I know I’ve been slack about writing articles lately, but today I will try and break my cycle by actually writing something worthy. I have been doing this little trick for quite some time and thought I should share a technique that some aren’t aware of.  (continue reading…)

mixing-for-the-band-hammerdown

It seems that these days I have been blessed to work with some of the best band members around. This one particular band that I got hooked up with is no exception. I was greeted with respect and kindness, almost like I was a long time member of the band. Here was yet another band willing to help me load my gear in and out of the club. (continue reading…)

losing-money-on-the-easy-gigs

Let’s face it, We are all in this game to make a buck. So where do we draw the line between time with family and money in pocket? (continue reading…)

Audio sound at a popular venue

audio-sound-at-a-popular-venue

Last Friday night I went to the Emile Pandolfi benefit concert at the local venue noted for many talents, both local and touring. I have always hated the sound in this place and many times the sound man has been blamed for this. After listening and looking at the equipment, I would like to think it’s a simple matter of incorrect house EQ. (continue reading…)

Emile Pandolfi benefit concert

emile-pandolfi-benefit-concert

As you all know, I have been hired several times by the world famous Emile Pandolfi to work as a sound technician when he does local concerts. My duties have ranged from simply setting up microphones, calling out monitor mixes from the stage or  actually running the Front of House sound. It’s nice to have someone that specifically requests you because of how you treat the client and how well you do your job. This blog isn’t about me though, it’s about someone who had a terrible thing happen to him but still found good in the situation.
